This modern hagiography looks back at the life and work of J. H. Gosden, a Christian Pastor, theologian and writer.
Born in Brighton in 1882, John Hervey Gosden at first rebelled against his strict Christian upbringing before returning to it wholeheartedly in his early 20’s. During the First World War, he joined the Royal Army Medical Corps where he received a Military Medal for conspicuous bravery.
After the war, he became Pastor at Priory Chapel, Maidstone, a ‘Strict & Particular’ Baptist Chapel. Gosden was a fierce defender of the truth, as he saw it, and wrote numerous articles on doctrine in the Gospel Standard magazine which he edited from 1935 until his death in 1964. He also wrote books on Christian Theology and a biography of his revered former pastor J. K. Popham.
Published by Chandlers, Bexhill, 1965.
Clean copy in good condition. Contains 4 facing page illustrations.
