Three-part BBC docudrama telling the story of the 1940 evacuation of the Dunkirk beaches during World War II. Narrated by Timothy Dalton and featuring archive footage, eyewitness accounts and original dramatised sequences, the programme charts the actions of soldiers, generals and cabinet ministers as they launch the ambitious rescue operation designed to return stranded soldiers to the safety of British shores.
