Roland Emmerich directs this historical action drama which depicts the 1942 Battle of Midway. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, US military intelligence learns of the Imperial Japanese Navy's plan to take the Midway Islands. The US Navy, led by Admiral Chester W. Nimitz (Woody Harrelson), prepares its forces for battle and sets a trap for the incoming Japanese fleet, hoping they can prevent further attacks on the West Coast of the United States and secure a decisive victory for the Allies in the Pacific Theatre. The cast also includes Ed Skrein, Patrick Wilson, Luke Evans and Aaron Eckhart.
