Queen Anne's Lace necklace Irish Keepsake - A living memory locket from a dainty pressed flower i saved in the Summer.Queen Anne’s lace is said to have been named after Queen Anne of England, who was an expert lace maker. Legend has it that when pricked with a needle, a single drop of blood fell from her finger onto the lace, leaving the dark purple floret found in the flower’s center. The name wild carrot derived from the plant’s past history of use as a substitute for carrots. The fruit of this plant is spiky and curls inward, reminiscent of a bird’s nest, which is another of its common names.  It grows extensively all over Ireland and is one of our best known wild flowers. This locket is sealed lightly closed and measures 30mm diameter .  The chain is a long 24 inches and can be adjusted to suit your desired length. While every care has been taken to preserve this flower perfectly please keep items away from water as much as possible to preserve its beauty. My botanic pieces are made with natural materials so when you are finished wearing it, please, put it away in a nice dark place to prevent too much sunlight getting to it. All my items arrive gift boxed.
