The majestic sea cliffs of Sliabh Liag (Slieve League) in South West Donegal have been natures fortress against the Atlantic Ocean storms for millennia. Their allure attracts visitors from around the World and even as locals we never tire of them. Here at the nearby Woollen Mill I have mixed a fog green to a grey base and softened it with white fleece. Then showered it with neps of classic burgundy, bottle, mustard and softened it with cottage door blue and rose pink. The first version of this artistry was developed by Nora and myself on a cloudy afternoon. We often discuss the infinite possibilities of colour and tweed speckles.  The aran weight yarn has been spun in two ply in a manner to create a homespun character, which with the tweed nep originated in Donegal. 100% pure new wool Yarn exclusive designed by Edel MacBride (2014)  Aran weight 200 yards (180 metres) per 100g CAKE Knits on 4.5mm / 5mm (8 USA)needles Hand or machine wash at 30 degrees, dry flat, wool care Patterns available from Knitfield by Edel MacBride  New pattern #Saglan by Aílbiona McLaughlin just released 2023 Knits to all Aran or Worsted patterns  On 5mm needles and firm stocking stitch 18sts to 4in (10cm) width (or test on 4.5mm)  PRE ORDER: NEXT BATCH APRIL 2023
