*** Marcelo Retamal among the most renowned winemakers of the world according to Decanter, having been listed in the top ten winemakers in the world in 2016 *** De Martino was founded in 1934 by Pietro De Martino Pascualone, who arrived to Chile from Italy in search of a place to satisfy his passion for winemaking. De Martino is one of the most progressive and exciting names on the Chilean wine scene, it has quickly built up a reputation for organic viticulture of the highest quality, farming from over 350 different vineyards. Chief Winemaker, Marcelo Retamal who was named as the 13th most influential winemaker in the world and best of Latin America - Decanter, June15 does a huge amount of work finding site-specific vineyards best suited to specific grape varieties. His work with the use of Viejas Tinajas (old earthenware jars) with the Muscat and Cinsault from Itata are terrific. Legado Reserva Range: The Legado Reserva range, produced in the most renowned valleys in Chile, uses grapes which can come from one or more vineyard from the same destination of origin. Through this range, we look to express the essence and individual characteristics which give each label a unique sense of origin. Legado Reserva is fermented using only native yeast and wine additives are scarcely used during the fermentation process, just small amounts of sulfur dioxide. 2 x Legado Cabernet Sauvignon, Maipo Valley: shows aromas of black berries and black currants abound on the nose of this full-bodied wine.  They are backed by subtle hints of vanilla and mocha from 14 months of aging in French oak barrels.  1 x Legado Cab Malbec, Maipo Valley: The Cabernet lends flavors of fresh red and black fruit, and spices; the Malbec adds elegant floral notes typical of the region. They are framed by subtle notes of tobacco and vanilla contributed from 14 months of aging in French oak barrels. A structured blend with pleasant acidity and soft, round tannins due to the alluvial soil with a high content of stones. 1 x Legado Carmenere, Maipo Valley: This wine’s bouquet is filled with fresh raspberries and cherries, hints of white pepper and plum, all balanced by sweet aromas of vanilla. A pleasant acidity coats the palate with well-structured tannins followed by a long, red fruit-filled finish. A smooth wine that is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. 1 x Legado Reserva Chardonnay, Limari Valley: This is a world class chardonnay with a finesse and style similar to a top Burgundy. Great potential to age. The soil if a limestone/clay mix – unusual for Chile and only present in the North. Full bunches including stalks are pressed. No Sulphar is added. Natural Fermentation. 1 x Legado Reserva Syrah, Choapa Valley: The vineyard which produces this wine is located in the Andes mountain range, 825m above sea level. It is a very rocky area. The altitude means the berries are small, with a thicker skin, more acidity and less juice – it is a perfect wine for gastronomy – highly awarded wine. Ageing Potential: 8 Years Food Matches: Red Meat / Grilled Meats / Venison / Duck
