Vinification: The Shiraz fruit had a long maceration period and underwent open top fermentation. It was then transferred to a four year old 2,700 litre French oak vat and a three year old French puncheon to age for 16 months with no racking. Tasting Notes: Elegant and powerful, the Koomilya is an intense, deep garnet colour with pomegranate, black fruit and herbal notes. Spice flavours from the oak barrels are integrated with finely woven yet tightly knit tannins that carry the intense fruit through the palate, giving superb length.
