Country: Italy  Region: Marche  Vintage: 2014   Category: Red Wine  Color:  Red Producer: Cantine Belisario "This 300 hectare co-operative is situated in Matelica, which is a smaller zone than Castelli di Jesi. The co-operative has 24 organically cultivated vineyards that are situated further inland than Castelli di Jesi, where the climate is more continental. The combination of warm days and cool nights allows the aromatic qualities of the grapes to develop and extends the growing season, so that harvest takes place as late as the second half of October. Grapes for their 'Terre di Valbona' are grown in vineyards planted between 350 and 450 metres above sea level. Higher up the quality ladder is the single-vineyard 'Vigneti del Cerro'. This site, situated 360 metres above sea level, produces a wine with an extra level of richness and depth on the palate. Their Riserva, 'Cambrugiano', has lovely depth and texture, and is certainly one of the best wines produced from Verdicchio. New this year is a Rosso Conero. Made solely from Montepulciano, it is full and ripe and as impressive as the white wines from this fine producer." Product Features:  Sustainable;Vegan;Vegetarian Product Allergens: Sulphites Label Winemaker: Roberto Potentini Vineyards: The vineyard is located in the Le Marche region, in the Conero Riviera and Natural Park. Surrounded by hills and sea, this is one of the most evocatively beautiful areas on the Adriatic coast. The soil here is rich in limestone and marl. The vineyard's distinctive geographical and climactic features combine to produce grapes of exceptional quality. Vinification: The grapes are destemmed and gently crushed. The must is fermented with selected yeasts at a controlled temperature. Maceration on the skins is carried out. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for about seven to eight months, followed by two months in second fill French oak barriques, then four months in bottle before release. Tasting Notes: The wine opens with earthy aromas of tilled soil along with notes of cherries, black fruit and espresso. The palate delivers bright red cherries, notes of mocha and a good tannic structure, making the wine very pleasant and enjoyable to drink. Food Suggestion: In addition to cold cuts and traditional pasta dishes, this wine pairs well with all meat dishes which are roasted or stewed. It's also suitable for cheese but not very mature cheese. Closure: Natural Cork  ABV: 13.5%   Acidity [g/l]: 5
