Rose Winchester Cathedral
A repeat-flowering and very free-flowering David Austin English rose, Rosa Winchester Cathedral is a small, deciduous shrub rose with a compact, neatly shaped, twiggy habit and good, mid-green foliage. From midsummer to autumn, masses of cream buds tinged with red open to cupped, loosely but fully double, pure white flowers, sometimes flushed with palest pink. The medium-strong fragrance is Old Rose in character, with hints of honey and almond. A sport of the well known Mary Rose, Rose Winchester Cathedral blooms at regular intervals from midsummer to autumn, but will not do well on thin, chalky soils. Makes a good cut flower.
