Korean Feather Reed Grass
An excellent warm-season garden grass, Calamagrostis brachytricha is a medium-sized, upright, deciduous, clump-forming grass which persists particularly well in winter. Arching grey-green foliage turns golden in autumn. Fluffy, purple-tinged seed heads appear in late summer fading to light silver-grey and then to rich brown, beautiful in winter when touched by frost or snow. Seedheads persist longer than almost any other grass, and retain their feathery quality when dried. Korean Feather Reed Grass is best in the middle of the border as it starts into growth late. Holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
