Inspired by the fashion of the 1920's, these earrings consist of embossed green leaves from cold porcelain clay, white tassels and delicate golden hoops. The process: I mix and knead all my cold porcelain clay by hand. This is the most physically demanding part of the making. The clay is then coloured in small seasonally themed batches. Each clay piece is formed using minimal hand tools and, once cured, sanded and polished before receiving a final coat of varnish or textured paint to give it a protective layer. This pair is a one-off. All earrings are packaged in a gift box and ships from Ireland. Care instructions: Cold porcelain clay is remarkably strong and will handle normal day to day wear very well. The finished pieces are very light so even larger pieces can be worn comfortably. All earrings have a protective coating but nevertheless they prefer to stay dry, so not suitable for swimming or showers.
